Mobile Tech 4 Social Change Camps are local events for people passionate about using mobile technology for social impact and to make the world a better place. This 1 day even in Cape Town will explore the use of mobile phones for social justice.

* interactive discussions about mobile tech for social good, * hands-on-demos of mobile apps and tools, * collaborations about ways to use, deploy, develop and promote mobile technology in health, advocacy, economic development, environment, human rights, and citizen media
Participants for Mobile Tech 4 Social Change barcamps include nonprofits, mobile application developers, researchers, donors, intermediary organizations, and mobile operators.

10:15-11:15 Plenary - Mobile Tech 4 Social Change - an overview of critical issues
11:15-11:30 Populating the breakout sessions - participants get together in interest groups of their choosing
11:45-1:00 First set of breakout sessions
1:00-2 Lunch
2-2:45 The demo market place (speed geek)
2:45-3:45 Second set of breakout sessions
3:45-4 Tea Break
4-5 Third set of breakout sessions
5-6 Closing Plenary

NOTE: Breakout sessions at a camp are user-generated, i.e. not planned ahead of time, but here are some that we know about that might happen:
* Open source mobile tools for NGOs * Lessons learned from building and deploying a mobile platform * Mobiles in community media * Lots of tool demos * Using mobile for advocacy * Mobile for grassroots groups -- low-end handsets, SMS * Mobiles in health and AIDS/HIV education and treatment * Beyond SMS: voice, USSD, and PCMs for information services
