The quarterly Amandla! News Calendar aims to support community media projects in South Africa to set a progressive news agenda and plan for current affairs programming/editorial – supporting them to develop a practice of alternative media, rather than imitating the commercial and public media (following their stories, angles, and sources).
The News Calendar includes a calendar of events and commemorations, suggested alternative angles to take on these events, and contact detail of relevant sources. The Calendar, produced by AIDC partnership with the NCRF, is posted to all community media projects to display in thier newsrooms every 3 months.
